Shavuos!

We spent so much time talking about the Jewish holiday of Shavuos! Shavuos is the Jewish holiday When Hashem gave us the Torah , including the Ten commandments. I hope you all enjoyed the picture Torah that came home before the holiday.

We sang the song:
Hashem gave us a present, do you know what it was?
He gave us the Torah so we can keep Mitzvos.

Hashem chose to give the Torah on a small , humble mountain called Har Sinai.
We made delicious cupcakes and decorated them with green icing to be a mountain. Hashem miraculously made beautiful flowers appear on the mountain before the Giving of the Torah. We,too, decorated our mountain with flower sprinkles and put two wafers on the top for the ten commandments.

SCIENCE : As part of our unit on OUR WORLD, we planted seeds to observe how when we water them, they grow. First we added soil. Then we put inside seeds , then we watered them. We put them on our windowsill in the sun and we water them every day to see how they grow:)

We reviewed the color green. We painted green leaves.

We also played some games with shapes to review square, triangle and circle.

Butterflies!

As you know we had a few caterpillar friends in our classroom that we were observing over the last couple of weeks. The caterpillars got bigger and bigger and then made their own cocoons and fell asleep in them. We transferred the cocoons to a butterfly house because the small container would be too small for butterflies to fly around in. Morah Inna transferred them for us. We put an orange so the butterflies would have what to eat.
Boy were we excited when we came in one morning and saw a butterfly!!!
