My senses

This week we have been discussing our five senses. We use our ears for hearing, our eyes for seeing, our noses for smelling, our mouths for tasting and our hands for feeling. We worked so hard to finish our Five Senses Book.
When we spoke about our ears we brought our musical instruments to circle time . We passed around cinnamon and cloves  to experience the sense of smell. We stuck some cloves onto a nose in our 'Five Senses Book'. We painted a mouth red and tasted and added raisins to our "tasting" page. We looked through funny glasses and colorful block with our eyes. Finally Morah showed us all different sensory objects such as bumpy velcro , soft feathers, hard sticks etc, so we could use our hands and feel them.

SCIENCE AND MAGNETS
We discussed how magnets work. We thought it was pretty amazing how the magnetic sticks "stuck onto" the magnetic balls. Sometimes, however, the magnets move away, they repel. If this happens we know to turn around one of the magnets so they can "stick to" each other again.
