We discussed and saw the different articles of clothing that we wear when it's cold outside. We each had a turn to take either a coat, hat, scarf , gloves, or boots from Morah Frumie's bag and try it on.
We sang the song:
oh what do you wear in the cold in the cold, oh what do you wear in the winter?
We wear a hat x2 We wear a coat x2, We wear our boots x2,
we wear a scarf x 2, we wear our gloves x 2
oh that's what we wear when it's cold when it's cold, oh that's what we wear when it's cold.
We collected snow from our backyard and put it in a bucket to play with in our classroom. It was soooooo cold.
We spoke about snowmen. We can make a snowman out of snow . We made our own snowmen by gluing white materials such as white cotton balls onto paper plates. We stuck on googly eyes and made a carrot nose.
We LOVED making other snowmen by mixing shaving cream and glue and painting it onto a black paper. What a fun fine motor craft! When the white glue combination dried it had a fluffy effect, feeling just like snow.
We sang a special song about a snowman that had a carrot for a nose. We loved the song so much we asked Morah to sing it over and over again:)
We colored in rabbits so when we bring home our snowman with a carrot nose we can sing you the song...
(it's also printed on the back of our rabbit.)
A chubby little snowman had a carrot for a nose
Along came a bunny and what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny was looking for his lunch...
And he ATE that snowman's nose. .nibble nibble. .CRUNCH.
Ask me to sing it to you with my snowman and carrot nose;)
